The Tramonte family story begins in the historic coastal city of Palermo, Italy—a place known for its rich culture, strong traditions, and deep culinary roots. Our great-grandfather, A.D. Tramonte, made the brave journey to America as a young boy alongside his sister. They arrived at Ellis Island and eventually made their way to Gramercy, Louisiana, where A.D. would build a life rooted in hard work, family, and food.
Starting with nothing more than determination and a small 12x20 building, A.D. began farming and selling fresh fruits and vegetables to his local community. His commitment to quality and service helped him grow his humble operation into Tramonte’s Store—a local staple where neighbors could count on fresh ingredients and a friendly face.
That spirit lives on today at Tramonte’s. We carry forward our family’s legacy with pride, blending old-world traditions with Louisiana hospitality. Our market and restaurant are built on the same values: fresh ingredients, bold flavor, and treating customers like family.
